downtown raleigh engagement session – vanessa & jimmy

Dear Internets,

The Raleigh wedding photography season is in full swing and that means lots of great engagement sessions to post! Vanessa and Jimmy’s took place a couple of weeks back. We met up for a frosty beer (or three) at The Hive bar over the Busy Bee Café in downtown Raleigh. This was the spot the happy couple met at last year, which was great news for me as it has some pretty amazing light to work with as well as some pretty tasty beer!

Once we had broken the ice, we headed out for a walk around downtown Raleigh. Vanessa and Jimmy will be getting hitched next month at Sacred Heart Cathedral, just around the corner from the Capitol building, so we made that one of our stops along the way. From there we headed back to the bar for a quick break and some more pics. After a quick change of clothes for Vanessa, we sallied forth once more onto Fayetteville Street to take in the sites and architecture, which we weaved into the photos. Here are just a few of my faves from the session:
