Sidney and Andrew’s wedding marked my first return to Duke Chapel since it reopened its doors earlier in the summer. Well, I’d stopped in on the odd occasion to for shoots and to check out progress while it was being renovated. I’d also been back with Sidney, her mum and sister a few weeks earlier when I shot Sidney’s sunset bridal session (the images at the top and bottom of this post are from that session). But this was my first time shooting a full wedding since April 2015. Needless to say, I was really pleased to be back in what has to be one of my favorite venues to photograph in. To have such an occasion backed up with a reception at The Carolina Inn just made it even more special.
I won’t bore you with the details of how the day unfolded as you can see it all below. There were so many nice touches, like Sidney wearing her mother’s veil, the chauffeur-driven vintage Rolls-Royce they travelled in from the church to the reception, time we spent around the Old Well taking photos with the bridal party and the happy couple, through to the appearance of UNC mascot Rameses at the reception and the horse-drawn carriage at the bubble exit. Everything about the day was beautiful and I want to thank the fantastic team of vendors listed below that went out of their way to make it a very special wedding to photograph indeed.
