This past weekend, I had the pleasure of photographing Alex and Marcus’s wedding at The Umstead Hotel & Spa not far from my home here in Cary, NC. It was a brilliant day and I’ll be sharing photos from that day as soon as they’re out of the oven.

In the meantime, I wanted to take the opportunity to post a few of my photos from Alex’s bridal session which we shot this past November. Alex and I basically had the run of the grounds of the Umstead and her friend’s property just around the corner, so we made the most of the opportunity to take some traditional shots and also experiment a bit with some more creative looks. Alex looked so beautiful and happy, she was positively glowing. She was a joy to photograph and I was sorry when the session was over.

Big thanks to Amanda and the staff at The Umstead for their hospitality, to Stephanie Sevilla of The Makeup Culture for her fabulous hair and make-up work and, finally, to Alex’s mum, Karen, and Matron of Honour, Lace, for their fun company and help during the shoot. I appreciate you all!
