If you checked out the last wedding I posted on the blog, you’ll remember I talked about the character of each wedding and how that rainy day ended up resulting in me selecting quite a few black and white images for my post. Well, even though this was another rainy day, I could tell just by walking into the salon to meet Payne (great name, right?) that her and Phil’s day was going to have a totally different vibe. The fact that Payne was sporting multi-coloured hair pretty much made that decision for me.
While I was hanging with Payne while she was getting hair and makeup at the salon, Adam headed over to meet up with Phil at the barber’s shop. You’ll see from the photos that Phil also had a pretty sharp look going on, and he was sporting a moustache that my 12-year-old daughter would describe as “very much giving”.
Payne & Phil’s day was very chill, and Adam and I had a lot of fun with them both. The Hideaway, located in the heart of downtown Asheville, was the chosen venue for their special day and it has a really cool speakeasy vibe to it. After their intimate ceremony, we ventured out into the streets behind the venue for some quick portraits. The soft light and the colourful urban surroundings made for a great background for us to play in and we got some pretty unique photos I’m really happy with.
After the portraits, we made our way back to the Hideaway for dinner, dancing, and toasts. The atmosphere was literally electric with all the neon lighting going on and the venue exuded a fun and nightclubby vibe. The newlyweds’ friends and family filled the room with laughter, joy, and heartfelt speeches. It was a true celebration of love, and I felt privileged to be a part of capturing those moments.
High fives and big hugs to the happy couple! Payne and Phil, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your incredible journey. Your wedding was a reflection of your vibrant personalities and the deep connection you share. May your days be filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures together. Cheers to a lifetime of happiness!
