Hey friends! Just taking a quick break from editing to share some photos from a recent Duke Gardens engagement session with the lovely Gabby & Neil a few weeks back.
As you’ll see, we spent a warm Friday evening taking a stroll around Duke Gardens enjoying the beautiful weather and gorgeous light. Now, regular visitors to the blog will know I photograph at the gardens a lot, and, after 15 years out so of photographing there as a member photographer, know the whole place like the back of my hand. As well as the flowers and foliage, the quality of the light changes throughout the year and so I always like to find new areas to photograph in where the light hits just right to bring the mood I’m looking for for each image.
Gaby and Neil were fantastic to work with and have a very natural chemistry together, so it just took a little bit of direction from me to ensure we got some good variety to the images in terms of how they interacted.
Here’s how Gabby put the experience after the shoot: “We had way too much fun! You made us feel natural and comfortable right away. We can’t wait to do it again on our wedding day! ?”
Anyway, it’s always hard choosing, but here are just a few of my faves from Gabby & Neil’s session. Looking forward to their wedding at Carolina Grove in September!
